I was standing next to her while she was putting away Shelby's clothes in his room, and I said, "When are we going shopping?"
Mom answers, "Shopping? What for?"
So I say, "Uh.. for.. cake, and stuff.."

"Oh, it's your birthday today? I was wondering why you were talking about going shopping and a cake.."

She's getting ready (i.e. putting on makeup and all that jazz) downstairs, when she heard my dad go, "So you're taking us all out shopping for your birthday? How sweet!"

So I kinda laugh it off and say, "That's okay. I owe you now. I can forget all about your birthday this year!"

Even though it stung. A little. She's been having memory problems (not real bad) but yeah.. Whatever. I'll make them buy me stuff to make up for my lost dignity.
